Welcome To Bike Signs
Working closely with the Christchurch City Council, Bike Signs.org.nz has been fostering a safer environment for cycling in and around Christchurch and Canterbury.
We have successfully negotiated with the Council for the provision of cycle safety signs for the most popular training routes - Short and Long Bays and the Figure 8 - and also for some black spots identified from accident data collated by the Police. Our work has resulted in agreement to jointly fund the purchase and installation of approximately 100 cycle safety signs on these routes.
This private/public initiative means that Bike Signs.org.nz has committed to raising funds to cover 30% of the $65,000 budget.
We are asking the cycling community to assist us in raising the $19,500 we need to make this initiative a reality with new signs to be installed for the next summer cycling season.
We need your help to ensure cyclists are safe on the roads. These signs, and the accompanying awareness campaign, will go a long way to make Christchurch a safer place to ride in. So click on the donation link and help us to help you.
We look forward to receiving your donation and the completion of this project.
